Oh LoRDie
After my recent stress-out my good ol' mates were there to cheer me up. I also jammed a few angry chords out on my guitar, wrote some songs and sang. And when i got bored of making up my own stuff, i tunred on my favourite CD's and yelled along with the singers. Nothing beats stress more than that. So whatever it is you like, do it! And don't hold back because after it, you feel great.
Also you need to follow Monty Pythons lead and "always look on the bright side of life." Sitting there stewing about things isn't going to help, so after a stressful day at work, go out with some mates and have a laugh and be thankful at the fact your're alive!
In recent years so many more people are being diagnosed with depression. All types of it. I disagree with it. Yes, people do get depressed but seriously, GET THE HELL OVER IT!!! You're never the only ones and majority of the time i strongly belive that medication is not even necessary. Sometimes people have major life changing experiences or have a heart breaking loss and it does take a while to get back on track, but the help of drugs isn't necessary in 9/10 cases. People seem to be losing touch with their emotions and that is truly upsetting. Emotions, although very complicated, are there for a reason. If you feel like crying, cry. If you feel like laughing, laugh. If you feel like screaming, scream. If you feel angry then feel angry but don't let things get at you for too long.
I always remember, in the back of one of the diaries from school there was a list of things to do to keep you happy and appreciate the fact that you could do what you choose. It included such things as:
- Laugh as often as possible
- Sing
- Do something you are afraid of
- Dance
- Learn to play and istrument
- Barrack for a footy team
- Tell people how your feel
- Dance in the rain
There was plenty more great things and every single one of them made sense and i made sure i did everything on that list before schoool was out and once it was i made up my own little list of things to do. Keeps you happy. My next goal is to go on a road trip. (Lol, Wolf Creek didn't put me off that easily, infact i wouldn't mind seeing that place...anyway...)
So live your life to the fullest, you only get the one chance and i am not going to waste mine.
Have fun, sing and love,
Bye all,
Dani

I'm a personal fan of the suggestions from the diary, and I remember a while ago there was an e-mail going around (I'll see if I can dig it up and post it in a bit) with a list of stuff that makes you feel better...
"Having a friend bake you cookies" was on the list... And it paid off, 'coz I made cookies for Mel once, when I went over to hers to help her study Statistics. Sadly, while they improved the mood of the venture, it didn't have much of an impact on the outcome of Mel's exam... So I think more are in store for this year when Mel repeats!
AND, remember when I made cookies for you when we went to the movies?
And when we took the butter cake to Sian's place and Kim ate it and he went "That's BUTTER CAKE!" and we laughed?
And I remember, once, Mel and I made a rainbow-coloured marble cake and psychedelic gingerbread (because it didn't quite make it into people-shapes, we decided to cook it it like biscuits and decorate with icing.)
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
